Perpetual motion
For centuries, many have tried to perfect perpetual motion. The term perpetual motion refers to a device that goes on forever. Whilst many claim that perpetual motion is impossible due to violations of many laws of physics including the law of conservation of energy, it is accepted that the laws of physics are incomplete and therefore achieving perpetual motion is therefore a very real possibilty.
In addition to creating a machine that will run forever, the next design step is to create a machine that not only runs forever but can also generate power forever. The advantages of such a machine are obvious. Imagine the impact on the environment with the elimination of burning fossil fuels. Imagine the impact on the household budget with huge cost savings per year by having an electrical generator powering your home with no running costs.
More and more is being learned about magnets. From a young age we have seen the effect magnets have when in close proximity to each other. They can either repel or attract each other. A child however does not think beyond curiousity, by that I mean: Imagine if we could use this magnetic energy to create a power generator to power our home! Now that is a thought that is worth pursuing!
